At Coolidge I enjoyed having one on one educational attention. I remember winning a coloring contest (1st place) of a gingerbread house. My picture was displayed in the hallway. Coolidge was a good experience. It was different, because I was low income. Wasn't used to being uptown, in a more privileged setting. I enjoyed the learning program that I got to participate in and I remember other activities that the school offered like rolller skating on Friday nights.I'll never forget it. It was a life changing experience to have to switch schools. Coming from Mississippi I wasn’t used to the “city life”. The closing wasn't a good idea, because it was a good school. It had a great foundation and location. Coolidge Park Apartments, that’s good. It's good to use the school for something else besides tearing it down That’s an awesome thing!
