My favorite teachers were Mrs. Johnson, the art teacher, Mrs. Dunham, the homeroom, history and english, and Ms. Hazelden, the music teacher. Coolidge was an exciting educational adventure. It was utterly fantastic and teachers only enhanced that experience. On Saturdays, there was free plays in the gym and movies at night and in the spring there were ice cream socials. There were things that were offered outside of the traditional educational spectrum and it offered a lot of opportunities to connect with the community. When Coolidge closed, it was a very sad day, it broke my heart.
